What "Approved Chauffeur" Means on LimoFarmOut
An approved chauffeur on LimoFarmOut has every required document checked by a person. See what is checked, what approval does not mean, and how to get there.

On a farm-out board, the word "approved" next to a driver's name does a lot of work. It is the reason an operator in one city will hand a client to a driver they have never spoken to. So it is fair to ask what it actually means, and what it does not.
This guide explains what an approved chauffeur is on LimoFarmOut, what gets checked, how long it usually takes, and where the limits of that approval sit.
The short answer
An approved chauffeur is a member whose required documents have each been looked at and approved by a person on the LimoFarmOut verification team, and whose documents are still current. Only drivers in that position can accept jobs or send offers on the job board.
Two parts of that sentence matter. "Each been looked at by a person" means nobody is approved by uploading a file and waiting for a machine to tick a box. "Still current" means approval is not a one-time badge. When a required document runs out, the driver stops being able to take new jobs until a valid replacement is approved.
What has to be approved
By default, these are the required items:
- A professional photo of you: head and shoulders, plain background, dressed for work.
- Your driver's licence, front and back, in the right class for your vehicle.
- Your chauffeur or limo licence, or your owner-operator licence, for where you work.
- Commercial insurance that shows for-hire cover, the insurer, the policy number and the expiry date.
- Proof of vehicle ownership or registration, or a lease or fleet letter.
- Five vehicle photos: front, back, inside, trunk and licence plate.
There are also optional uploads: a vehicle safety inspection, a background check or driving record, and a bus or coach operating authority. That last one matters if you want party bus, minibus or coach work, because those jobs need it approved before you can take them.
Each required item has its own deeper guide in this series. If you are unsure about insurance, start with commercial vs personal insurance for chauffeurs. If your licence is the question, read chauffeur licence requirements around the world.

Who does the checking, and how fast
A member of the verification team opens each upload and reviews it. The help centre says this usually happens within a business day, and most new chauffeurs are ready to accept jobs in the same week they sign up.
You can follow the status of every item in your account under Documents. Each one shows as not uploaded, waiting for review, approved, turned down or expired. When a document is approved you get an email saying so. When the whole set is approved, you get a welcome message and the Documents tab simply tells you there is nothing left to do.
For the step-by-step view of that queue, see how document review works and how long it takes.
What approval does not mean
This part is easy to skip, so it is worth being direct about it.
Approval means a person reviewed what you uploaded and it looked right. It is not a background check, an endorsement or a guarantee. It does not confirm, on anyone's behalf, that you are licensed or insured for a particular trip. The terms say plainly that the driver or operator who performs a trip is responsible for holding the right licences, permits and insurance, and for following local vehicle-for-hire rules.
It also does not mean LimoFarmOut insures you. LimoFarmOut checks that you hold commercial insurance. The cover itself comes from your own insurer, under your own policy.
Why spell this out? Because an approved chauffeur who takes a job they are not legally allowed to do is still not allowed to do it. The driver agreement says it simply: if you cannot do a trip legally, do not accept it.
Why approval is worth having
So what does the badge actually change for you?
- You can take paid work at all. Every job on the board is prepaid by card before a driver sees it, and only approved, current drivers can accept or make offers.
- Operators you have never met can say yes. When you accept, the poster sees your name, your car and your plate. That, plus your ratings, is what lets someone in another city trust you with their client.
- Your offers carry more weight. When an operator collects offers, they compare vehicle photos, ratings and waiting terms side by side. A complete, approved profile is easier to pick.
- Disputes start from facts. Your uploaded vehicle photos and documents show what you said you would bring.
The help centre puts it in one line: good ratings and verified documents get you more work.
Keeping your approval
Approval lasts as long as your documents do. LimoFarmOut sends reminders 30, 7 and 1 days before a document expires, and the item turns red in the last week. Upload the renewal early and you keep working while it is reviewed. Let a required document lapse and you cannot take new jobs until the replacement is approved. More on that in expiry reminders and staying active.
The other way to lose approval is to break the rules that sit behind it. Uploading false, altered or someone else's documents, sending a different vehicle from the one in the job, or contacting the poster's passenger directly can all lead to an account being paused or closed.
A note for operators
If you farm out work, approval gives you a starting point, not the whole picture. Read the driver's ratings and comments, look at the vehicle photos, and check that the vehicle type fits the job. The limo affiliate network page explains how posting, offers and protection work from your side. Licensing still comes from local regulators such as New York's Taxi and Limousine Commission, and industry bodies like LimousineAssociation.International publish screening, insurance and vehicle standards worth knowing.

What is an approved chauffeur on LimoFarmOut?
A chauffeur whose required documents have each been reviewed and approved by a person, and are still within their expiry dates. Only approved, current drivers can accept jobs or send offers.
Does approval mean LimoFarmOut has insured me?
No. LimoFarmOut checks that you hold commercial insurance. Your cover comes from your own insurer, and keeping it valid for every trip is your responsibility.
How long does it take to become an approved chauffeur?
A person usually reviews each document within a business day, and most chauffeurs are ready to accept jobs the same week they sign up, as long as the uploads are clear and complete.
Can I lose my approval?
Yes. If a required document expires or is turned down, you cannot take new jobs until a valid one is approved. Breaking the driver agreement can also lead to an account being paused or closed.
