How Chauffeur Document Review Works and How Long It Takes

What happens after you upload chauffeur documents to LimoFarmOut: who reviews them, the status labels, the emails you get, and how long review usually takes.

You have uploaded your licences, insurance and photos. Now what? Most new chauffeurs want to know two things at this point: who is looking at their documents, and when they can start taking jobs.

This guide walks through the chauffeur document review on LimoFarmOut from upload to approval, using only what the platform itself tells you. No guesswork about queues or secret checks.

Step 1: you upload

Each document has its own slot under Documents in your account. For most of them you add more than the file:

The file itself can be a photo or a PDF, up to 5 MB. The professional photo and the five vehicle photos must be images. If you need help with the files, see preparing clear document photos and PDFs.

Once a file is accepted, you see a confirmation that it was uploaded and that the team will check it and email you.

Step 2: a person reviews it

Every upload is opened by a member of the verification team. Nothing is approved just because a file arrived. The reviewer looks at whether the document is the right one for the slot, readable, current, and consistent with the details you typed.

The reviewer can also correct a detail when approving, for example an expiry date that was typed wrongly. And if they turn a document down, the system will not let them do it without a reason, so you always know what to fix.

Your documents are encrypted. Only the verification team can view them, and every view is logged.

Step 3: you see the result

Each document in your account shows one of these labels:

| Label | What it means | |---|---| | Not uploaded | Nothing in this slot yet. | | Waiting for review | Uploaded, in the queue for a person to check. | | Approved | Checked and accepted. | | Turned down | Not accepted. The reason is shown on the item. | | Expired | Was approved, but its expiry date has passed. |

You also get an email for each decision. An approval email tells you the document is approved and until when, and lists anything still needed before you can take jobs. A turned-down email gives the reason and a link to upload it again. When the last required item is approved, you get a welcome message by email and text, and the Documents tab shows a Verified badge.

So how long does it take?

LimoFarmOut's help centre says a person reviews each upload usually within a business day. The chauffeur jobs page adds that most chauffeurs are ready to accept jobs the same week they sign up.

"Usually" is honest wording. A review can take longer if an upload is unclear, if it is the wrong document, or if details do not match. The fastest path is to get everything right the first time.

What speeds review up

What review is not

Review means a person checked what you uploaded. It is not a background check, an endorsement or a guarantee, and it does not confirm that you are licensed or insured for any particular trip. That responsibility stays with you. LimoFarmOut also does not supply insurance; it checks that you hold commercial cover. More on this in what "approved chauffeur" means.

Renewals go through the same review

Review is not only for new members. Every time you upload a renewed licence or insurance certificate, a person checks it the same way. The difference is that, if you upload before the old document expires, the item shows "Renewal waiting for review" and your earlier approval stays in place until its own expiry date. You keep taking jobs while the new one is checked.

That is why it pays to act on the reminders, which go out 30, 7 and 1 days before a document expires. Upload in the first week of that window and the review is done long before the date. The full routine is in expiry reminders and staying active, and if anything is turned down, here is how to re-upload it.
