How owner-operators take chauffeur jobs from operators in other cities and countries: prepaid trips, local time zones, and payouts in your own currency.

An operator in London has a client landing in your city tomorrow morning. A travel company in Dubai needs a car for a delegation arriving at your airport next week. An agency in New York has a wedding guest who needs a ride from your train station. None of them know you, and you have never heard of them.

That is where some of the best chauffeur jobs from operators abroad come from. The trip happens in your city, on your roads, under your licence. The client relationship belongs to a company thousands of kilometres away. For years this kind of work moved through personal contacts, long email chains and invoices that took months to clear.

LimoFarmOut makes it simpler. Jobs can be posted in any city in the world, they are paid for before you see them, and your payout goes to a bank in your own country.

Why operators abroad need you

International clients don't stop needing a car when they leave their home city. Their regular operator wants to keep looking after them, but can't send a car across an ocean. So the operator looks for a trusted local driver at the destination.

What they need from you is local knowledge and a properly licensed, insured vehicle. Which terminal the flight lands at. Where the hotel's drop-off lane is. How long the bridge takes at rush hour. You already have all of that. What you didn't have, until now, was a way for them to find you and pay you without a phone call and a favour.

How a cross-border job reaches you

The operator posts the trip in the pickup city: your city. They enter the address, the flight number and the pickup time as it will be on the ground where you are. Pickup times are set in the pickup city's time zone, so a trip posted from another continent still shows the right local time on your screen.

They pay up front by card. Only then does the job appear on the job board and on the phones of drivers in your city who supply that vehicle type. You see the route, the time, the vehicle, the passenger count and your payout before you accept.

The money is held before you drive

Working for a stranger in another country used to mean taking a credit risk you couldn't check. Here, the risk is gone before you see the job:

You never have to work out an international bank transfer or chase an invoice in another time zone. If you want to know more about how Stripe handles payouts in different countries, its pages on global availability and cross-border payouts are a good starting point.

Language and phone numbers are handled

Posters and drivers on LimoFarmOut work in six languages: English, Español, Français, Português, Arabic and Hindi. Every phone field has a country flag in front of it, so a passenger with a foreign mobile number can still be reached.

When you call or text the passenger, it runs through a private trip number, so your real numbers stay hidden from each other. The line works from the mobile on your account and closes 30 minutes after the trip. That protects the passenger's privacy and the operator's client relationship, which is exactly why an operator abroad is willing to hand you the job.

The no-contact promise is what earns you the work

An operator sending a client to a stranger worries about one thing above all: losing that client. So on every job you accept, you promise not to contact the client or passenger directly, not to share your own number and not to take them as your client, now or later. Phone numbers and emails typed in the chat are removed. Breaking the promise can close your account.

Keep that promise every time and it becomes your best sales tool. Operators who farm out across borders come back to drivers they can trust with their best clients.

Airport work is the heart of it

Most cross-border jobs start or end at an airport. Airport pickups on LimoFarmOut come with flight tracking, and the passenger gets a live tracking link so they can see you approaching. Know your own airports well: the meeting points, the short-stay rules and the parking costs. Sites like Toronto Pearson and Heathrow publish their ground transport arrangements, and your local airport almost certainly does the same.

Parking and waiting at airports are paid through the platform when you close the trip, so a delayed international flight doesn't eat your margin. If the job includes free waiting time, it is shown on the job before you accept.

Planning a trip of your own?

International work often runs both ways. If you're travelling to meet partners, attend a trade show or bring a client abroad, you can search flights, hotels and resorts with our travel partner here.

Taking work when you travel yourself

The same network works for you when you're away. If you're attending an event in another city, you can still pick up jobs there, as long as you're properly licensed for that city and your vehicle is with you. Check the rules first: each city and country sets its own licensing for chauffeured work. For a reminder of what to keep current, see licences, commercial insurance and renewals for owner-operators.

Frequently asked questions

Can operators in other countries post jobs in my city?

Yes. Jobs can be posted in any city in the world. Drivers in that city who supply the right vehicle type are alerted when the job goes live.

What currency will I be paid in?

Payouts go through Stripe to a bank account in your country, in your country's currency.

How do I avoid getting the pickup time wrong on an international job?

Pickup times are set in the pickup city's time zone, so the time you see is the local time where the passenger is collected.

Can I contact the overseas operator's client after the trip?

No. On every job you promise not to contact the client or passenger directly, now or later. All contact goes through the private trip line, which closes 30 minutes after the trip.

Do I need a special licence for jobs from abroad?

You run the trip under your own local licence and commercial insurance, the same as any other trip in your city. Check your local rules if you plan to work in another city.
