Stripe Payouts for Chauffeurs: Set Up Your Bank Once
How chauffeurs set up Stripe payouts on LimoFarmOut: what Stripe asks for, why your bank details stay private, payout timing and fixing common setup problems.

Before you can accept your first prepaid job on LimoFarmOut, there is one piece of paperwork that has nothing to do with your licence or your car: telling the platform where to send your money. That happens through Stripe, the payment company that handles every card payment and payout on the network.
It takes a few minutes, you only do it once, and getting it right means every payout after that lands without a thought. This guide walks through the setup, explains what Stripe is doing behind the scenes, and covers the problems drivers most often hit.
Why payouts go through Stripe
LimoFarmOut pays drivers through Stripe Connect Express. In plain terms, you get your own small Stripe account, linked to LimoFarmOut, that receives your payouts and sends them to your bank.
There are three good reasons for this setup:
- Your bank details stay private. You give your bank account to Stripe, not to LimoFarmOut. The platform never sees your full bank details.
- Your identity is checked by a regulated payment company. Stripe verifies who you are before money can move, which protects you and the operators who post work.
- It works in many countries. Payouts go to a bank account in your own country, in your country's currency.
Stripe explains how Express accounts work in its own documentation if you want the detail.
Setting up, step by step
You'll find it in the app under My account → Earnings → Set up payouts.
- Start the Stripe flow. You are taken to Stripe's secure setup pages.
- Confirm your identity. Stripe asks for details such as your name and date of birth, and may ask for an ID document. The exact questions depend on your country.
- Add your bank account. Use an account in your own name or your company's name, in the country where you drive.
- Return to LimoFarmOut. Stripe can take a few minutes to confirm you. When it's done, the Earnings tab shows that payouts are active.
You also need your documents approved before you can take jobs: photo, driver's licence, chauffeur or livery licence, commercial insurance, vehicle ownership and vehicle photos. A person reviews each upload, usually within a business day. Doing the Stripe step while you wait for document approval saves time.
What happens after each trip
Once payouts are set up, you don't need to touch them again.
- You close the trip after drop-off and add any extras.
- The poster has 24 hours to report a problem. If they confirm the trip sooner, the money can move sooner.
- Your payout is released automatically, within 48 hours of drop-off.
- Stripe sends a standard transfer to your bank. It usually arrives in 1 to 2 business days and is free.
If you'd rather have it in minutes, Earnings → Cash out now sends it to your debit card for a flat $2, up to five times a day. If an instant payout fails, the $2 is refunded. For when that's worth it, read Instant Cash-Out.
There is one exception to the 48-hour timing. When a poster is new to the platform, their first 5 trips are paid within 84 hours, as protection against card fraud. Our guide to the first-five-trips rule explains why.

Payout timing depends on more than one company
LimoFarmOut controls when your payout is released. After that, Stripe and your bank control how fast it arrives. Bank holidays, weekends and your bank's processing times can all affect the last step. Stripe's guide to payouts for connected accounts explains the schedules and timings it works with.
A practical tip: keep the bank account on file current. If you change banks, update it in Stripe before your next trip, not after. It also helps to check the name on your bank account matches the name you gave Stripe, since a mismatch can hold up a transfer.
It's worth remembering what the platform has already done by this point. The job was paid in full by card before it reached the board, so the money for your trip existed before you accepted it. The only open question at the end is the speed of the final transfer, not whether the money is there.
Common setup problems and fixes
"Finish payout setup before accepting jobs." Your Stripe setup isn't complete. Go back to Earnings → Set up payouts and finish the remaining steps. Stripe may still be checking your details; give it a few minutes.
Stripe asks for more information later. Payment companies sometimes ask for extra details after setup, for example a clearer ID photo. Respond promptly, because missing information can pause payouts.
The name doesn't match. Use the same legal name in Stripe as on your ID, and a bank account in that name or your registered company's name.
Wrong country. Payouts go to a bank in your country. If you have moved, set up payouts for the country where you now live and work.
Something else. Every error message in the app has a Report a problem link, and the help centre answers most payout questions.
Fleet owners and "I drive and farm out"
If you run a fleet and send your chauffeurs on jobs, the payout goes to the account that accepted the job, which is your company account. You then pay your chauffeurs as you normally would.
If you chose "I drive and farm out", the same Stripe account receives your driving payouts, while the jobs you post are paid by card. Your monthly statement separates the two, which keeps your accounts tidy. See chauffeur statements for your accountant.
