Run a Limo Trip From Your Phone, Pickup to Payout

The trip screen for owner-operators: navigation, flight tracking, a private passenger line, status updates and closing the trip, all from your phone.

When you're a one-car business, there's no dispatcher in an office watching the map for you. You're the driver, the dispatcher and the customer service desk, usually all at once and usually from behind the wheel.

That's why the trip screen matters. On LimoFarmOut, everything for the job you're running sits on one screen on your phone: the route, the passenger, the next step and the money. This guide walks through a trip from acceptance to payout, so you know exactly what to tap and when.

Before the trip: one screen, everything you need

Once you accept a job, open My account, then Trip. You'll see:

Keep the page open during the trip. Your location is shared only while a trip is under way and only while the page is open, so the poster and passenger can follow you.

Step 1: En route

Tap En route when you leave for the pickup. From that moment the poster and the passenger start seeing you on the map. The passenger has a live tracking link that arrived by text in the operator's company name, so they can watch you approach without calling anyone.

Step 2: On location

Tap On location when you arrive. This matters more than it looks. If the passenger doesn't show, your on-location status is part of what shows you were there. A passenger no-show with the driver on location pays you in full. There's more on that in protecting yourself from no-shows and late cancellations.

At an airport, flight tracking helps you time this properly. Keep an eye on the arrivals information from the airport itself too; Dubai Airports and DFW, for example, publish live flight updates and ground transport details.

Step 3: Calling or texting the passenger

Need to tell the passenger where you're parked? Use Call passenger or Text passenger on the trip screen. Both go through the trip's private number, so neither of you sees the other's real number.

A few things to know:

Never give the passenger your own number. On every job you promise not to contact the client directly, and that promise is why operators trust you with their clients.

Step 4: Passenger on board

Tap Passenger on board once they're in the car. If a client is ready early, you can go early: press each status as you go, even before the booked time. Ask the poster to change the pickup time so their records and the passenger's texts match.

Step 5: Trip complete

At the drop-off, close the trip properly:

  1. Check the whole vehicle for anything left behind and tick the box confirming you did. The trip won't close until you do.
  2. Add any extras: waiting time, overtime, parking, tolls or extra stops.
  3. Tap Close the trip.

For waiting and overtime, type the total minutes you waited or the extra hours you drove, and the charge is worked out from the agreed rate. The poster approves extras before they're paid. If a passenger left something, tick I found something and the private line stays open for a day so you can arrange its return.

After the trip: getting paid

Once you close the trip, the poster has 24 hours to report a problem. After that, the payout goes out to you automatically, inside 48 hours of drop-off. It reaches your bank free in 1-2 business days, or in minutes with instant cash-out for a flat $2 under Earnings. A new client's first 5 trips are paid within 84 hours, as protection against card fraud. Stripe explains how fast payouts to a debit card work in its instant payouts guide.

Tips from posters arrive with your payout. Your rating and comments appear under Earnings, in My rating, and a monthly statement is emailed on the first of every month for your records.

Get the app on your home screen

LimoFarmOut works as an app on iPhone and Android, with job alerts, the trip screen and your payouts on your home screen; there's no app store needed. On an iPhone, add the site to your Home Screen and open it from there so alerts work. Then you'll hear about new jobs the moment they're posted, even between trips. Filling empty hours with prepaid farm-out work shows how to make the most of those alerts.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate app to run a trip?

No. The trip screen works in your phone's browser, and you can add LimoFarmOut to your home screen like an app on iPhone or Android.

Why can't I call the passenger from my office phone?

The private line only connects the mobile on your account, for privacy. Use Call from my mobile: your registered mobile rings first and the passenger is connected when you answer.

Can I start a trip before the booked time?

Yes. If the passenger is ready early, press each status as you go. Ask the poster to change the pickup time so the records match.

Why won't my trip close?

You must tick that you checked the whole vehicle. A trip that started early can close a few minutes after the passenger is on board; otherwise it closes from the booked pickup time.

When is my location shared?

Only while a trip is under way, and only while the trip page is open on your phone.
